N1 Therapy founder Daniel Neilson is a BACP (British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists) accredited psychotherapist.

He has a decade of experience treating clients for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, substance abuse and addiction.

Background

As well as seeing clients privately, Daniel has worked in a wide range of clinical settings.

In the private sector he provided third-party employee support on behalf of Workplace Options. He worked for charities Age UK Camden and Charter Harley Street and has worked extensively within the NHS for Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust and the South London and Maudsley Foundation Trust.

More recently he has worked as clinical lead for counselling team at the London School of Economics

Approach

Daniel is a humanistic therapist influenced by Carl Rogers, Melanie Klein, Erik Erikson and Erich Fromm.  He holds an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling from the Centre for Personal and Professional Development and an MSc in Psychotherapy Studies from the New School of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

He uses an integrative approach drawing from a diverse range of models such as psychodynamic psychotherapy, existential psychotherapy, person-centred counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy to create a care plan based on an individual’s needs.
